Our personal hygiene and house cleaning has always been held important but due to times like these and with an undefeated virus like Covid’19 around these two things have become the core attention and first priority to humans around the world. And since we are in a lockdown situation, with every family member at home and kids running around keeping the house sparkling clean is nothing less than a mission.
Not only have the Covid’19 health emergency taken the cleaning and hygiene up a notch but also has changed our habits to be a lot more hardcore and efficient than they were earlier. Disinfecting the cupboards, floors, doors, kitchen and pretty much all of the house has become a daily chore and boy is it hard to do all that.

But while you’re at it you also don’t want to be too hard at cleaning so that in result it starts to ruin your stuff especially your wooden floor. This has been a concern for a lot of people and so BM Floors decided to list down a series of tips for disinfecting and thoroughly cleaning your wooden floor the right way.

Here are some tips so your wooden floor shines even through the pandemic:

· Use vacuum or a spin mop: we advise using either vacuum or a spin mop because the lesser the wood accumulates the water the better it is for your wooden floor to last. You can also use a broom but a soft bristled one so no harm is caused to the floor.

· Use vinegar to protect the shine: natural wood can be easily contaminated so one of the best products to disinfect with is vinegar. Add half a glass of white vinegar to the bucket of water you are going to use for moping and wring out the mop well. This will prevent the floor from becoming too wet and will help protect the natural shine of the wood.

· Use paper or talc to remove stains: the stains on your wooden floor especially of oil, grease or ink can cause you a lot of problems so to avoid that use soaking paper or a bit of talc. If you use talc, leave it for 24 hours and then vacuum. After that moisten a cloth with cleaning fluid, wipe and then dry it off with a clean cloth.

· Use rugs or carpet runners: we know you don’t want to cover the beautiful floor you have but precautionary measures are better than cure. Choose suitable rugs or carpet runners for wooden floors and make sure to place them on high footfall areas such as doorways, halls and stairs.

· Keep in touch: hopefully this pandemic won’t last longer than it has already stayed but until then stay inside, be safe and if you have any more questions or queries regarding your wooden floor you can contact BM Floors through email or visit our site https://bmfloors.com.pk/.
